On the early morning of October 19th Fire Stations 40 and 41 and Squad 35 were dispatched to 2304 River Road for a reported structure fire. First arriving patrol units had a working fire in an upstairs bedroom. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm and Point Beach Stations 42 and 43 were dispatched, as well as Herbertsville Station 24 was requested for a FAST Team. Brick Police EMS was dispatched to respond in as well.
Upon arrival for Engine 4011 a interior attack was made with an 1 3/4 line. Engine 4161's crew set up a line on the east side if the structure to protect the exposure. Fire was extinguished in a fast and efficient manner. Limited damage to exposure was found.
Crews from Rescue 4187 and 4003 conducted overhaul. Command was terminated around 0600hrs and scene was turned over to the Ocean County Fire Marshal and Point Pleasant Police Dept. Point Boro Ems treated 1 victim and several displaced animals.
Ladder 4005 and Engine 4151 responded as well.
