On the morning of Jan 23rd Squad 35 as well as Stations 40 and 41 were dispatched to the area of River Road and Chatam Lane for a report of a motor vehicle accident with a vehicle smoking. Upon arrival of police units they advised dispatch that they had 1 patient entrapped in the vehicle. Squad 35 and Stations 40 and 41 were re dispatched advising of a rescue assignment.
Engine 4011, 4171arrived on location.
Fire units assessed the scene and pulled a precautionary hand line, Rescue 359 and rescue 4003 arrived on scene as well as Rig 356. Point Boro Ems began extricating the patient with assistance from fire department units.
The roof of the vehicle was removed, and the dash board was rolled to allow access to patient. Both doors were popped and secured by the fire department. Patient was then removed by crews and transported to JSUMC Trauma.
All Ems, Fire and Police personal should be commended on an outstanding job.
